Wheat and the Weeds
I like many have been grieved by so many events in 2020.Im not talking about Covid but of the great divide and hatred and injustices we have seen and how at times two different groups are looking at alternative universes. Two totally different approaches entirely with no consideration for charity what so ever.
These things include The elections, censorship, grave injustices, irrational decisions Fake news which is really slander .. let alone all of the other issues hate moral decay abortion racism greed etc
So often I have wanted to use my music or platform to speak out knowing whatever I said would divide in half those who want to reach with the good news of Jesus who is not the law of dos and Donts but Grace and truth love and mercy
When I get so concerned with righting all the wrongs I see in society or relationships and want to do what I can to extract the evil I think I see Brings me to Jesus not wanting to pull up the weeds less you destroy the wheat,
The Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the weeds also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds ? He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the weeds you also uproot the wheat with them.Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
This scripture you can apply to world wide situations or your own private life ... The family you want to confront may cause more damage and rip up the good that you have accomplished together by pulling up the weeds of your relationship.In other words The Lord wants us to be active at times and to speak the truth in love and other times it wouldn’t be prudent to speak out or to act . In other words discernment
It wouldn’t be prudent is one of George Bush’s seniors observation in the first Iraq war .. Many wanted him to take the dictator Saddam Hussein out as leader. but he felt it would destabilize the country and open the Mid East to more turmoil , So he left a far from perfect situation alone to not create what he thought may be situation that would be worse
A lot of people use the scriptures especially the book of Revelations to describe our times. Maybe its the end and maybe it’s not.I saw a comic strip where one of the characters said to the other I wonder what part of the book of Revelations we are in to day? I heard Peter Herbeck say we may not be in the Last Times but it feels like at least the dress rehearsal. Jesus himself said we know not the day of the hour but we are to see the signs of the time
But part of the book of Revelations talks of a harvest as does Christ talk about in scripture the harvest at the end of the age . We must be ready for the harvest of souls of those who have come to the realization of the emptiness of the worlds promises and the imperfections of the kingdom of man. They will need a place that is not like the kingdom of the world where forgiveness and mercy are the ruleWe are in difficult times at least for many of us So what should we do ?
Frances de sales says that all that are called by Christ have different functions and it would be foolish to prepare and discipline yourself as a priest if you are married.,, In other words seek Christ for our role in his kingdom then do it.
I had a dream where there was great dirt in the house and a young lady I know who was the epitome of Christian virtue was being dirtied by it ... I then got out an old ragged vacuum cleaner with a punctured bag that made dust go all over the house ...since that made things worse I tried another technique.I got some cue tips out and starting to wipe the soot off of the blinds by the window and got myself sick in the process. Some one took me aside and said your making yourself sick and making it worse for everyone it would be better for you to play your guitar get us to relax and remember those things you learned at the prayer meeting Basically the dream was saying what Frances De Sales has said and what I had heard in private prayer stay in your lane . In Bishop Robert Barrons Book Seeds of the word a book where he tries to find seeds of Gods word in our culture, he tells the story of When Bob Dylan went to China and was criticized by Mareen Dowd of The NY Times for agreeing to not play any of his anti war and counter cultural songs of the 1960s’.She said he had lost his edge and lost out on a chance to speak truth to power. .Bishop Barron who is A Bob Dylan fan went and checked out Bob Dylans songfest and found out his opening song was You gotta serve somebody which has a repeating chorus of it could be the devil or it may be the Lord but your going to have to serve somebody. Bishop Barron goes on to say what is more counter cultural and revolutionary than to proclaim to an atheistic regime You have to choose today who you serve the devil or the Lord. We may not feel we always have power over specific issues but profiling the word of God is always good. The word of God always accomplishes what its set out to do.It reminds of the song this is how I fight my battles.
And this is something I received in prayer a personal revelation.
We might even have weeds in our own heart that if we want to rip out the weed will destroy the good ,.Past relationships or seasons which had plenty of wrong in them , still may have some wheat .We must be honest with the Lord and come as we are be real and not block out or memories and experiences because they fell short of the glory of God. All thing work together for good those that love the Lord. Let the Lord be the gardener of our heart .

It is important for my children in the church to remember their humble roots of where they were at when they came to know me.
If my people would do this one simple thing, (remember their roots) my church would become the helping hand that I desire it to be.
As we follow the Lord we must
keep being filled with oil with our lamps burning
and as we seek the Light we will come to be a place of rest and
and from that life giving water and living fountain we will become that ark that oasis to heal and give food and drink to hungry world.
Let’s not look to the Left or the Right and meditate on his word fix our eyes on him and be his peculiar people for his glory and enter into that land of promises the promised land
